The Mews is a vibrant senior living community in downtown Greenwich CT. consisiting of 80 residents and 35 staff.

n 1949, Nancy Carnegie Rockefeller created the Merry-Go-Round Clubhouse, a non-profit day center for senior citizens. A pioneering concept at the time, the Merry-Go-Round provided seniors with a warm and welcoming source of nutritious meals, activities, and the companionship of others. The endeavor attracted a steady stream of retirees, older homemakers, and others, eager to remain involved and connected to their community.

By the late 1960s, however, seniors were living longer, more independent, and active lives than ever before. The need for centers like the Merry-Go-Round waned even as the need for reasonably priced senior housing in Connecticut increased. Mrs. Rockefeller rose to the occasion and filled the gap with all the amenities of the Merry-Go-Round Clubhouse, but as a residential facility.
