We are passionate about two things: good friends and good food.

Chef and Owner Zachary Mayer founded Oak & Honey Catering with a focus on creating beautiful, approachable, simple and seasonal dishes that bring people together.

Chef Zach started his career as a teacher, launching a working cafe in his school to bring kitchen and vocational skills to students with autism in Manhattan. He transitioned to working in restaurants and catering full time, cooking in some of his favorite restaurants in Brooklyn, and learning from and working with some of the best chefs in the borough.

Deciding to bring restaurant quality, seasonal ingredients, and farmer’s market fresh dishes to the catering world, Oak & Honey Catering was founded in 2018. With a team of dedicated, talented, and professional chefs, servers, and bartenders, we are honored to bring our beautiful dishes to your event in Brooklyn and beyond!

Sustainability is our priority! We do everything we can to make our process as sustainable as possible. We aim to buy local, seasonal and sustainable products and partner with local purveyors who are as environmentally conscious as we are! Our drop-off packaging is all compostable and recyclable, and we eliminate food waste as much as possible. All leftover food is either donated to our Greenpoint Community Fridge or to North Brooklyn Angels or composted. We are constantly reviewing our practices to minimize our footprint both before and and your event.
