It all began with the Canadian Honker Restaurant and Catering established in 1984 in a location where 8 restaurants had failed in a 10-year period. Having passion for the industry combined with hard work and dedication our organization slowly expanded and grew from a restaurant that sat 40 people to today being able to seat 165 guests and with an estimated 3 million people served and counting.

In 2006 we opened the Rochester International Event Center, in 2013 we welcomed in Pinnacle Catering to our growing portfolio of brands. In 2016, we acquired the Mayowood Stone Barn wedding venue and in 2019 opened our new brand, J Powers Events, inside the brand new Hilton Hotel in downtown Rochester.

We strive to create a positive family business culture with more than 150 employees across all of our businesses and many of our employees have been with us since the very beginning.

Today Powers Ventures is one of the largest caterers in Minnesota and we are proud to be recognized nationally within our industry. Our heritage and tradition of culinary excellence and exceptional customer service combined with an unwavering commitment to fresh, made from scratch, innovative food offerings has given us continued growth. Annually our organization produces more than 250 weddings per year and an estimated 1,500 corporate and social events.
