The Red Onion Restaurant & Bar is a full-service casual fine-dining restaurant serving dinner seven nights a week. The Red Onion prides itself on its menu of fresh, hand- made food, properly made cocktails and well-chosen beer and wines-by-the-glass, house-made pastas and desserts, daily seafood specials, delicious soups, sauces and individualized vegetable garnishes. Along with consistency of preparation, these are some of the things that have established The Red Onion as a Hudson Valley dining destination for 22+ years. We boast a Wine Spectator award winning wine list over 10 years in a row.
As a chef, I am a stalwart defender of quality and consistency of preparation. For me, the restaurant kitchen is centered first and foremost on execution. Innovation and creativity are exciting but the reason the Red Onion continues to grow in both cover count and top-line revenue year in and year out is our devotion to quality and consistency.
We are looking for someone whose professional satisfaction comes from putting out delicious, attractive plates of food, one-at-a-time, day in and day out.
Ideally, the candidate brings new ideas and new techniques to help keep The Red Onion relevant, but also soomeone who truly values time-tested ways of doing things and who can balance both.
