Riverbend Retreat–Fla., a peaceful getaway nestled along the Alafia River in Riverview, is seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team. As the on-site culinary professional, you’ll be the creative force behind every meal served—crafting nourishing dishes that elevate both our guests' daily experiences and special events.
We’re looking for a multi-talented individual who thrives in a hands-on, guest-centered environment. If you love creating extraordinary breakfasts, managing a kitchen from prep to clean-up, and supporting a mission-driven retreat space with heart and hospitality, we’d love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all kitchen operations with excellence and efficiency
Plan and prepare meals for guests and on-site events (retreats, celebrations, etc.)
Craft exceptional breakfasts, lunches, and occasional dinners that are both nutritious and delicious
Handle all aspects of food prep, presentation, and plating
Manage food costs, inventory, and ordering
Bake fresh goods, including breads, pastries, and desserts
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation
Ensure food safety protocols are followed, including HACCP and ServSafe guidelines
Provide input on menus and nutritional needs for guests with dietary restrictions
Wash dishes and keep the kitchen clean and organized
Represent the warm, welcoming spirit of Riverbend in every guest interaction
Qualifications:
Culinary experience in a retreat, B&B, catering, or hospitality setting preferred
ServSafe Certification (required)
Knowledge of nutrition and food safety practices
Strong knife skills and a love for both flavor and presentation
Able to work independently, be organized, and manage time efficiently
Positive, professional, and flexible attitude
Compensation:
Salary Range: $18-24/hour
Plus opportunity for bonuses
